All 1000 Series doors shall be normally 1¾" thick. The core shall be of honeycomb material 80 lbs. Per 3000 sq. ft. ream, 20% phenolic resin, 7/16" cell size. A 1¼ x 4 x 1/8" thick aluminum tube is provided on four sides for hardware backup. Doors shall be constructed of one piece. .040" 3003-H 14 stretcher leveled aluminum facing. Fed. Spec. QQ-A-250/2c, vertically ribbed embossed pattern laminated to .125" tempered hardboard.

The entire perimeter of all 1000 Series doors shall be furnished with special beveled edge design aluminum extrusion 6063-T5 alloys to recieve the aluminum skin and hardboard the full width of the door. All fasteners used shall be stainless steel. Wool pile weatherstripping on edges.

1000 HALF GLASS(HG) All 1000 HG Series doors have snap in type glazing for 1/4" or 1" thick glass. Extruded aluminum 6063-T5, minimum thickness of .050 with a black vinyl insert. Special glass and glass sizes are available.
1000 HALF GLASS LOUVER (HGL) All 1000 Series HG and HGL doors have a non-removable glass stop for 1/4" or 1" thick glass. Standard glass sizes are 12" x 12", 22" x 32", 18" x 32", 6" x 30", 16" x 32", and 24" x 24". The full flush mounted louvers can be obtained in various sizes. The most standard sizes for the louvers are 12" x 12", 18" x 12", and 24" x 12".
All 1000 Series doors shall be prepared for hinges, locks (spindle holes only in face doors), and backup plates for closers and door stops. These doors are adaptable for pivots (top, bottom, and intermediate) and concealed closers. Doors receiving surface applied hardware will be provided with reinforcing only. Drilling and tapping shall be done in the field.
1000 BOTTOM LOUVER (BL) All 1000 Series doors will have louver frames and blades of 6063-T5 aluminum alloy with a minimum thickness of .062. Insect screens shall be 14-18 mesh, .013 diameter alcad aluminum of 1/2" mesh galvanized birdscreen set in a .050"extruded frame.
All 1000 Series doors shall be anodized in accordance with Alumilite Finish 204R1 with a minimum coating of 0.4 mils thick and a minimum coating weight of 17 mgm per square inch. The anodic coating shall be sealed and shall be a type that will maintain the natural color of the aluminum. Various other coatings are available. OPTIONAL PROTECTIVE COATING: After cleaning and finishing and prior to shipment two (2) coats of a clear colorless methacrylate lacquer shall be applied to all surfaces of the aluminum.
